The criteria used when selecting hardware for CAE Applications is different to the criteria used when selecting hardware for gaming or for general 'office' applications to run. The answer will invariably depend on the type of work your company does, the size and the complexity of the models and drawings which you will create. We are often asked to advise on the best hardware to run SOLIDWORKS and your other CAE applications on. System Requirements for SOLIDWORKS CAD Workstations Use this information to ensure you are always working with a SOLIDWORKS-supported and optimized system for hardware, operating system and Microsoft products. These requirements apply to all SOLIDWORKS products except where noted. SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS Data Management System Requirements The EULA also is often referred to as the software license or user license. In all instances, the user has the option of not accepting the EULA, subsequently surrendering the rights and ability to use the software.Īs in typical legal contracts, the EULA protects both parties from liability if the software is used in a way not intended by the manufacturer or author. This last method is typical of applications that can be downloaded from the Internet. Some contracts stipulate acceptance of the agreement simply by opening the shrink-wrapped package some require the user to mail back to the manufacturer a signed agreement or acceptance card some require the user to accept the agreement after the application is installed by clicking on an acceptance form that appears on the user's monitor. The EULA details how the software can and cannot be used and any restrictions that the manufacturer imposes (e.g., most EULA?s of proprietary software prohibit the user from sharing the software with anyone else). An EULA is a legal contract between the manufacturer and/or the author and the end user of an application. Short for End- User License Agreement, the type of license used for most software. What is an End User License Agreement (EULA)? The SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager will check your eligibility for a service pack, before downloading. SOLIDWORKS Service Packs are only available to customers with active Subscription. For the complete list of supported operating systems, please see The eDrawings Viewer 2015 is available on 64 bit operating systems only. The SOLIDWORKS 2014 Viewer will remain available for download but will not open SOLIDWORKS 2015 and later models. Starting with the SOLIDWORKS 2015 release, the SOLIDWORKS Viewer is being retired and will be replaced by the eDrawings Viewer. SOLIDWORKS 2015 and later will not install on 32-bit operating systems. SOLIDWORKS 2014 is the last release that supports 32-bit operating systems. Therefore, if you want to go to Service Pack 4, you do not need to download SP0 to SP3 first. Each Service Pack available contains all the previous updates. Has anyone else experienced this error? Any suggestions for me to try out? I’d really like it to run on this Windows Server 2012 R2 machine. I opened a call with eDrawings support, but was told that the issue was not reproducible and suggested that I use it on a machine that works. NOTE: I used the “License Configuration Tool” to point the Floating License Server field to our license server (we own 1 network license). This same software combination was installed on a different machine and things work fine (Windows 7 Professional, VMware Virtual Platform, 圆4-based PC). The server machine runs on Windows Server 2012 R2 (VMware Virtual Platform, 圆4-based PC).Įverything seems to install fine, but when I attempted to publish any and all models (large or small) it will give a “Fatal error encountered” message and crash Creo. I’m attempting to setup a new server machine with an installation of Creo 3.0 M050 (64bit) and eDrawings 2014 publisher Version 10.4.0.101 (64bit). ![]()
